A quick dip within the ocean allowed me to meet a ray within the shallows back at camp rounding off a beautiful day connecting with nature. Meeting our remaining guides Nigel and Clayton, we had a little bit of an introduction session with our 10 fellow walkers and a briefing before heading out on our first walk of many for the week. We respectfully acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal folks as the standard owners of the land upon which we work and pay our respect to Elders past and current.

After a hearty breakfast at camp, there’s a quick drive to the beginning of today’s stroll, which entails a reasonably challenging climb up Mt Killiecrankie. There’s loads of time to absorb the spectacular views throughout the gorgeous bay and surrounding coast before starting the descent towards the rocky coastline of Stacky’s Bight. Well-fed and recharged, the walk continues to ‘The Docks’, one of Flinders Island’s secret gems the place the burnt orange of the lichen-encrusted granite outcrops contrasts beautifully with the white sand and turquoise bay.
